Don't Panic!

Do not be afraid! Do not be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15b

This was God’s response to King Jehoshaphat and his people when they cried to God because the armies of Moabites, Ammonites and Memunites declared war on Israel. Instead of panicking, he told the people to fast and they cried to the Lord God (v5-12).

They reminded God of His promises and that they know that He is able to rescue them (v6).
They reminded God of His covenant with Father Abraham (v7).
They acknowledge that they were powerless against the army that was about to attack them (v12).

God answered their prayers in verse 15-17. Are you facing an impossible situation, or are their challenges threatening your life. Instead of running around, why don’t you seek the Lord of God of Israel? He is the same God and He has not changed. If He can answer Jehoshaphat, He will answer you.

Acknowledge that you are powerless and ask Him to intervene in this situation and He will surely give you a word that will come to pass. In Jehoshapat case, He said that:

They will not need to fight in this battle because the battle is His.
They should take their positions and then stand still and watch the Lord fight (v17). Their position was to praise God (v22)
He also told them not to be afraid or discouraged because He is with them (v17).

If you read v22-26, you will see that God’s word came to pass. Have you been seeking God about a battle that seems to overwhelming. God is saying don’t be afraid, take a position of praise and stand still to see God fight for you.

God bless,

Keep on producing

Hi everyone,

I use the UCB word for today devotional for my daily bible study and I was so blessed by what was shared on the 16th of October. It was based on Proverbs 30:28.

Your size doesn’t determine your potential, your spirit does. No matter where you start, you can end up in the king’s palace. As long as you live, keep on producing! You might not produce as much as someone else but you’ve got to keep on producing. We don’t all produce at the same level, but we must all produce at some level.

When we are fruitful, other people can "eat" the fruits that we produce or gain from our lives. We cannot afford to stop producing. Don’t be intimidated by someone else's level of production, just make sure you are producing.

Above all remember that we have to connect with God or the Vine before we can produce. Our lives are all about others, by God’s grace, keep on producing.

Thanksgiving

It’s my birthday today and I am so grateful to God for adding another year to my life. I’ve been quiet because I was in Nigeria for 10 days, it was such a fruitful journey and a time of refreshing. All the glory belongs to God. I noticed that the spiritual atmosphere in Nigeria is different so you have to be prayerful. This trip really improved my spiritual life, I believe I was set up by God to improve my prayer life. There is so much to share but I will write as led by the Holy Spirit. Have a fruitful week and remember that God is faithful.

Are you tired and worn out?

If you are weary, exhausted, shattered or drained, I want you to know that there is strength in God. So many things can drain us or make us weary but we know from the word of God that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength because He gives strength to those who are tired and worn out. Are you weary financially, go to God for provision, do you feel as if you can’t go on, God is waiting for you. Don’t give up on your dreams because of the storms, our Father Abraham believed in hope against hope. As we wait on the Lord, He will give us instructions that will lead us to our promise land. I have made up my mind to hold on to God’s promises and as long as I live, I shall testify of the Lord’s goodness in my life in Jesus name.

If you are looking for your next job or contract, you might dread Mondays because you don’t have anywhere to go. Don’t be discouraged because the Lord is faithful. Recently I’ve felt drained financially because everything is more expensive and it feels as if all I do is spend, spend, and spend. I’ve chosen to put my trust in God and I can tell you that He has been faithful. Last week at work, I was given £150 vouchers that I can use in many shops plus pay a rise that I wasn’t expecting, God is awesome. I know the world is going through a shaking and everything that can be shaken will be shaken. As Christians, let us build our lives on the Rock and we will not be shaken because the Rock of ages cannot be shaken. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.

Thank you Jesus

I am thanking God for coming through for me mightily yesterday, He is too faithful to fail, He is dependable and He is more than enough. The more you trust in Him, the more secure you will be because those who put their trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion. Psalm 125:1 NLT

Dealing with financial storms

We all know that there is a financial storm raging in the world today, banks are going bust and the hearts of men are failing them. As Christians, let us draw our hope from the word of God because Jesus is in our boat and we shall not be ashamed. Regardless of what is going on around us or in our lives, don’t be discouraged and continue to pay your tithes and offerings. My favourite verses around this time are 2 Corinthian 9: 6-11 NLT

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God”.

We can see from the verses above that a giver is like a farmer who sows. As you give, you are scattering your seeds and know that God will cause a harvest to come your way.

How should we give?

Give cheerfully
Give generously
Let your giving come from the heart, that is, purpose in your heart what you should give
Don’t give under pressure or compulsion; pressure means burden, load, weight, urge or force

Results of giving right: God will make every grace and favour abound towards you so that you can abound to every good work.

If you don’t have the seed, ask God. I always ask God for the seed and make a pledge in my heart that I will give to the ministry or individual that is in need at a later date. When there is a need, you have an opportunity to be blessed so let’s be givers. This is the word of God, it cannot be broken.

With love,

Loving God and people

It’s been a while since I’ve written on this blog. I truly apologise for my silence, thank God for one of my sisters who woke me up. Today, I was reading the book of 1 John and it’s all about loving God, others and living in the light because God is light and there is no darkness in Him. I can’t get away from love in this season because being a Christian is all about love. We cannot claim we love God and not love the people we see. We have to love, 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that nothing we do matters without love. I thought about that this morning, God has standards and He will not lower them for anyone. Please make sure you are walking in love.

If you have not been walking in love, ask God for forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us of our sins. Please read the whole of 1 John, it will bless you mightily. It doesn’t matter what other Christians are doing, make sure you are walking in the word of God. The word of God is the truth that sets us free.
